WEEK ONE

Of course, I was incredibly excited on my first day of teaching. First of all, I was overwhelmed to see my children after a short gap and second of all, the thought of teaching them. For the third semester internship program we the six teacher trainees opted GURUDEVA HIGH SCHOOL,Piravanthoor. Nonetheless, my first day in the classroom went better than I expected. Though the learning content was not difficult, I just put them into the track by introducing the theme of the short story "The Nightingale and the Rose". At first, it was incredibly difficult for me to figure out what I should do for every day, but with time, the process got a little bit easier, and I started getting more creative with the lessons. From the last semester teaching practice session I came to realize their interest and tried my best to include the activities which they liked the most.  The response I received from the last week underlines that my perception was RIGHT. By preparing something of their interest, I felt so much satisfaction and I become much more confident in my teaching. I also learned that I do not have a good sense of time when I am teaching, so I now know to make sure to make a schedule of what will be done at what time. In every ways I really enjoy the week.
